Project: The Belonging Story
Description: A portrait with your meaningful belonging. Do you have a belonging are most meaningful to you? What’s is the story behind it?

Every person has a story, and every picture should tell part of that story. These portraits show how people keep things to connect them both to the past and to the future, people, places and/or experiences.

Project Duration: Feb 2018 – still in progress.

Portrait 1: Last Gift from Father
Story: “I kept the red packet since my teenage years until today. I was thinking, how long I can receive it. In 2017, it is  the last Red Packet*(ang pao) from my father. It becomes a memory now and that memory becomes a treasure”.

*Red Packet – at Lunar New Year, Red Packet is a tradition to give as a gift to friends and family. These are filled with money and symbolise good wishes and luck for the new year ahead. 

Portrait 2: Mother’s Love
Story: “This beautiful necklace is an unexpected delight from my mother. I can still recall the present my mom gave me when I was 12. It was the greatest gift after she was gone. Every time I look at it, I see the necklace, itself; and I see my mother’s love. ”
